The Mets will look to avoid being swept by the Astros in Houston this afternoon as they play the 3rd game of their series beginning at 2:05PM.  The Mets came into Houston on a roll, winning 5 of their last 6 games to reach their high water mark of 4 games over .500.  This was series in which everyone expected them to pad their record even more against a no named Houston Astros club.  However, it has not gone that way as they have dropped the first two of the series and send spot starter Chris Schwinden to the mound to avoid the sweep.

Schwinden (0-0, 11.25) who is filling in for the injured Mike Pelfrey was lit up in his first start of the year against Colorado.  In 4 innings pitched last Friday he gave up 6 runs (5ER), along with 7 hits and 1 BB in a 18-9 loss to the Rockies.  Today will only be Schwinden's 6th career Major League start.

On the mound for the Astros' will be left-hander Wandy Rodriguez (2-2, 1.72).  Rodriguez has been very good thus far in 2012 as he has turned in a quality start in 4 of his 5 starts on the year.  Rodriguez has pitched very well against the Mets in his career as he is 3-2, with a 2.91 ERA against New York over 43.1 innings pitched.

Game time is scheduled for 2:05 PM.  Here are the starting lineups:

1.  Ruben Tejada SS
