Game Notes: The DSL Pirates won game one of a best of three series to open the DSL playoffs. The Pirates were led by Luis Santos, who threw five shutout innings, allowing one hit and striking out six. Between the two DSL teams this year, Santos put up a 2.44 ERA in 62.2 innings with a 74:20 K/BB ratio. The 21-year-old is in his second season in the DSL and is a little old for the league. The Pirates scored four runs in the top of the ninth, thanks to Pablo Reyes, who hit a bases loaded triple then scored on a ground out later in the inning. The triple gave the Pirates a 4-1 lead at the time. The Pirates need to win one of the next two games to advance to the second round.
