Game Notes: The Indians won their final game of the regular season, while also producing one of the craziest box scores ever. Jeff Larish played eight positions, including pitching in the seventh inning. The game was called early, which gave Larish the save. Jose Diaz, a relief pitcher who weighs 350 pounds, was moved over to second base in the bottom of the seventh. Diaz led off in the eighth and reached on a two base error. He then stole third base, and scored on a Chase d’Arnaud single. About the only normal thing in this game was that Chad Qualls made a rehab appearance, striking out the side. In his final four strts of the year he gave up five earned runs in 25 innings, with a 13:4 K/BB ratio. Eric Avila hit his 11th homer of the year. In the second half of the season he hit for a .291/.328/.564 line in 165 at-bats, with all 11 homers. Alex Fuselier hit his first homer of the year for West Virginia.

Game Notes: Dilson Herrera has a four game hitting streak, and is hitting for a .368/.400/.684 line in his first five games with State College. Joely Rodriguez started off the year strong, with a 3.06 ERA in 47 innings prior to the All-Star break. He fell apart down the stretch, giving up 19 earned runs in 21 innings over his final five starts, with a 16:5 K/BB ratio.



The GCL Pirates won the Gulf Coast League championship.

Starting pitcher Cesilio Pimentel, who signed last year for $140,000, hd a 2.75 ERA in 52.1 innings during the regular season, with a 38:18 K/BB ratio. He throws 88-91 MPH, and has a good slider which could become an above-average pitch one day.
