As the lights go out for good in Shea Stadium, the only home most of us have known for our NY Mets ends the way so many seasons in the past have, with disappointment. I had come to accept the fact that this team might not make it to the playoffs, with as tumultuous and injury plagued season as they had it amazed me that they actually returned to contention. But this weekend sucked me back from rational thought and right into the middle of the irrational fanatic thinking. The Mets only scored two runs in their last game and five over the entire weekend. While most will remember the two late inning solo home runs given up by the pen, I can't forget that they only scored two runs in a must win season ending game.........I absolutely agree that the bullpen has to be addressed and that 29 blown saves is completely unacceptable.
