CLEVELAND -- After twice contemplating a sacrifice bunt, Ryan Raburn hit a walk-off, three-run home run in the 11th inning off Jason Frasor, giving the Cleveland Indians a 11-8 win over the Texas Rangers on Friday night.
After shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera and catcher Carlos Santana opened the inning with back-to-back singles off Frasor (0-2, 3.26), Raburn squared to bunt on two pitches before ripping a 2-1 pitch onto the home-run porch in left. The walk-off blast saved the Tribe, who blew a 7-1 lead and nearly lost after a poor bullpen performance.
"The bunt was on for the first two pitches, then they took it off," Raburn said. "I was happy they did. The way I feel at the plate, I like my chances better swinging away. I was just looking for a good pitch to hit. He left a slider up and I was fortunate enough to hit it over the wall."
