Well three people involved in the bullpen move today, one that I said wasn't, but I didn't take into account the fact that they would just outright release him. I meant in terms of getting called up. Rafae Perez is going down, Matt Herges is coming up, and Juan Salas is gone.

Matt Herges is getting the call to Cleveland. He's a 39 year old veteran that's pitched for Colorado, Los Angeles, Florida, among others. He started the year in Columbus, and slid into the Closers role when Greg Aquino got hurt. He's 1-2 with 4 saves in 10 IP with a 5.40 ERA and 7 strikeouts.

His best year was probably with Colorado in 2007, when he carried a 2.96 ERa in 48 innings for Colorado, and was a big part of their postseason bullpen that went to the World Series, he didn't give up an earned run throughout seven total innings.

Going down is Rafael Perez, who's struggled to find himself after dominating for the Domincan Republic in the WBC. He's carrying an ERA of 15.19 in 13 apperances out of the pen. Perez is probably being sent down to find his slider and work out his mechanics. He can't get regular innings because the Indians need to get outs and right now he can't do that in any situation. In Columbus he'll be able to freely fine tune himself and get himself straight.

Gone is Juan Salas, who was claimed off waivers by the Indians during the spring. Salas had an option left so he was sent down to start the year, but never even made it Columbus. He's quite the mystery right now and no one even knows where he's at. Maybe the Indians don't either. Anyway he's not their issue now, he's got his outright release to clear a 40 man roster spot for Herges.

No move concerning Jeremy Sowers? Much was made about the fact that he didn't pitch last night. Could a trade be in the works? I doubt it. What's the issue now with him not pitching, because he's not injured?

Only time will tell I guess.
