Damian Rolls is a former utility man (in the baseball sense, not in the monopoly sense) from Manhattan, Kansas. In 1996 Rolls was drafted out of high school 23rd overall by the Los Angeles Dodgers. A few years later  after not making it to the big show, Rolls was claimed by the Kansas City Royals after the rule 5 Draft, but was then quickly traded to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays where the prospect would finally make his debut in 2000 as a September call-up.

In 2001 Rolls played 2B behind Brent Abernathy (potential RAOTD) on a team that went 62-100. In his rookie season Rolls batted .262, hit 2 homeruns, drove in 12, and stole 12. The next season D-rolll only played in 21 games, and with his 89 AB’s he hit a a career high .292. In 2003 Damian became the everyday starter at 3B and he hit 20 doubles, 7 homeruns, 46 RBI’s with a batting average of .255. In 2004 Rolls’ final season, he definitely should have taken steroids, but instead he morally played awful.

He was later signed by the Yankees and the White Sox but couldn’t make it out of their farm system. After that he ended up moving to the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball where he would play for the Long Island Ducks and Kansas City T-Bones. Rolls in 2011 was a hitting coach for the Rockland Boulders in Canada.

Damian Rolls is most highly recognized for:

  • Hitting 2 homeruns off Roger Clemens in a game
  • Having a Baseball Park named after him
  • Having a very boring MLB career
  • Having a great raver name
