The Rangers may not have been very impressive today, but they did get a win to take the series with the Royals. Sometimes it takes the other team to provide a play to get you going. Alberto Callaspo's dropped ball on Ian Kinsler's pop-up gave the Rangers the break they needed. Then they took advantage as Michael Young got a base hit. The Rangers kept things going the next inning (the eighth) in a 4-run inning.
Discuss:
• Kevin Millwood. This is not what the Rangers need. Let's hope this tightness left glut won't sideline him for long. Combine Holland's struggles with Millwood's situation and starting pitching has to be a priority at the trade deadline (for the right deal, of course).
• Dustin Nippert. Wow. This guy is really pitching with confidence. He got the win, coming into a scoreless game for Millwood when he left with the injury in the third. It's a good thing, because Nippert may have to start again soon if Millwood can't go.
