Rangers’ Dustin Nippert Takes Line Drive Off Head, Listed as Day-to-Day

Filed under: Rangers , MLB Injuries Rangers pitcher Dustin Nippert was knocked out of Monday night's Texas-Detroit game when he was hit on the right side of his head by a line drive off the bat of Tigers outfielder Austin Jackson in the sixth inning. Trainers attended to a dazed Nippert immediately after he was knocked to the Comerica Field turf by Jackson's drive. Despite the scary scene, the right-hander was able to get on his feet relatively quickly and left the field under his own power.
