PLAYERS: Coty Woods
TEAMS: Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers have returned Rule 5 draft pick Coty Woods to Colorado and gotten first baseman Chris McGuiness back from Cleveland. McGuiness, who hit .195 this spring with the Indians, was assigned outright Wednesday to Triple-A Round Rock. After being taken in the Rule 5 draft last December, McGuiness and Woods had to be offered back to their former organizations if not on the major league opening day roster. Woods, a right-hander, had a 2.61 ERA with 10 strikeouts in 10 relief appearances for the Rangers this spring. McGuiness hit .268 with 23 homers and 77 RBI in 123 games last season at Frisco, the Rangers' Double-A team. He was MVP in the 2012 Arizona Fall League with a .283 average and league-best 27 RBIs.

Rangers introduce Texas-sized concessions

ARLINGTON, Texas Fans in mourning over the loss of the Great Bratbino at Rangers Ballpark now have reason for hope. Rangers depending on Yu, other returning pitchers

For the Texas Rangers, the focus is on who stayed in town, rather than who left. At least, that's the approach they're trying to take. There have been some big changes in the Texas lineup since not winning a game last October, particularly the departure of five-time All-Star and former AL MVP Josh Hamilton, now with the AL West rival Los Angeles Angels. Also gone are Michael...

Harrison allows four runs in final tuneup

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) -- Chris Sale felt much better about his final tuneup for opening day than Matt Harrison did.
