Marlon Byrd hit a three-run homer and Ivan Rodriguez followed with a two-run shot as the Rangers chased Indians starter Fausto Carmona in the first inning. Scott Feldman has a 5-0 lead as he pitches the bottom of the inning.
Carmona threw seven straight balls to open the game and allowed six hits. The only two batters he retired were Nelson Cruz and Ian Kinsler, the team's top two leaders in home runs. Jensen Lewis entered after No. 9 hitter Esteban German singled up the middle, and got Julio Borbon to end the inning.
The Rangers have a big lead for the third straight game against Cleveland, but the Indians didn't go away in the previous two games. But with Feldman on the mound, the Rangers have to like their chances.
