Baseball Musings:
Evan Grant reports on the latest from the judge ruling on the bankruptcy of the Rangers:
At every turn, the sale of the Rangers becomes a more convoluted mess and today’s ruling by Fort Worth bankruptcy court judge D. Michael Lynn throws another wrench into the already-locked up sales process. Judge Lynn ruled that the creditors have been “impaired” during the sale process and would have the right to vote to on any proposed sale. It’s pretty clear how the creditors would vote on the plan as it stands right now: No. No. A thousand times no. What does all this mean:
First, Rangers business-side officials did not comment on judge’s opinion today, so most of this is speculation of the purest nature. That said, the sale process, at the very least, is bogged down again.
It getting to look like new ownership won’t be able to take over before the trade deadline. They may need to win with the team as is.
