Jeff Niemann agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal with the Rays for 2013 after losing arbitration. The news on the signing first broke on Twitter via Jon Heyman of CBS.  Niemann, who turns 30 next month, was placed on the 60-day D.L. last season on May 14th. He was 2-3 with a 3.38 ERA before breaking his leg due to a comebacker from Toronto’s Adam Lind. He would return in September but his appearance lasted four innings due to shoulder problems and did not return the rest of the season. Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times writes that the Rays are working the arbitration period with three others as well: Sam Fuld, Matt Joyce and Ryan Roberts. The post Rays and Niemann agree on a deal appeared first on The Bay Cave.
