Tampa Bay Rays
New York Yankees
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Rays overcame a rough start by James Shields, but the Yankees couldn't overcome their miscues Tuesday night. Sean Rodriguez hit a go-ahead two-run homer, Shields battled back and the Rays kept their Tropicana Field magic against the Yankees working for a 7-4 victory. "We've played well against them here," said Rays manager Joe Maddon, whose team has won nine in row at home against the Yankees. "It's unfortunate this year. Our bane has been the (AL) Central. We've played well against everyone else except that division." Rodriguez's shot to left off Ivan Nova (9-3) in the fourth gave the Rays a 5-4 lead after Shields (8-5) gave up three runs in the opening inning. Tampa Bay added two runs in the seventh. Desmond Jennings stole home on a double steal in which catcher Russell Martin's throw to second bounced into center, and Ben Zobrist singled in a run. Rodriguez went 3-for-4 and also had a double, and Jeff...

Robinson Cano is a liar. Before last night's 4-3 Yankee loss to the Rays, I took to Twitter and saw a series of tweets by Chris Kamler (@TheFakeNed), a guest on one of my earlier podcasts. He was calling Cano a liar and I didn't know why:Bernadette Pasley @LadyBatting"@TheFakeNed: #SayItAintCano "Yankee" is East-Coast for "Liar.""//When...

Rodriguez, mired in a 17 for 100 slump dating back to May 21, finished with 3 for 4.

The move clears a roster spot for reliever Chad Qualls, who was acquired from the Phillies on Sunday evening. Wade has a 5.79 ERA in 32 2/3 innings this season. This move was the obvious action once Qualls was signed.
New York Yankees starter David Phelps knew he had his work cut out for him as he matched up against Tampa Ba Rays All-Star left-hander David Price on Wednesday, but the 25-year-old right-hander was up to the task. Phelps held the Rays to one run on two hits over 4 1/3 innings before his pitch count caught up to him, but the youngster did the job to keep the Yankees in the game...

Yeesh, my head hurts. Bear with me. I can't find the connector for the iPhone. Good grief, it's one thing to wake up and not be able to find your glasses, or your sneakers, but since when do you wake up and not be able to find the connector for the iPhone? There should be an ap for that. Where was I? Where am I? Better yet, where is the connector for the iPhone? OK, enough...
The New York Yankees have claimed Boston Red Sox outfielder Darnell McDonald off waivers today.
The move gives the Yankees some outfield depth while left fielder Brett Gardner rehabs his elbow that has kept him out much of this season.
McDonald is expected to join the Yanks in Boston on Friday. In order to make room for McDonald, the Yankees designated Chris Schwinden for assignment...
