Via the Rays communications department: Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Matt Moore has been named by 2013 American League All-Star manager Jim Leyland to replace Texas Rangers right-hander Yu Darvish on the A.L.’s active roster for the 84th All-Star Game, Major League Baseball announced today. Moore, who picked up the victory in a 4-3 win over the Minnesota Twins earlier this afternoon, is now 13-3 on the season with a 3.44 ERA and 108 strikeouts in 107.1 innings pitched over his 19 starts.  His 13 victories are tied for the A.L. lead, and they are the most in franchise history prior to the All-Star break.  Moore’s teammate David Price held the previous mark of 12, set in 2010.  The 24-year-old has permitted 83 hits and 55 walks while holding opposing hitters to a .213 batting average, which now ranks fourth in the league.  Moore, who is in his third Major League season, is 25-14 in his career with a 3.64 ERA over 53 games, including 51 starts. Darvish, a two-time All-Star, was placed on the disabled list on Wednesday with a strained trapezius muscle.  Darvish will be recognized as an All-Star with full honors and plans to attend the festivities in New York. With Moore’s selection, the Midsummer Classic rosters now feature 31 first-time All-Stars, marking the third-highest total of all-time behind 2011 (35) and 2010 (33).
