PLAYERS: Matt Moore
TEAMS: Tampa Bay Rays

Rays shared some news that is not what many want to hear. All-Star pitcher Matt Moore has been placed on the 15-day disabled list. News was courtesy of The Tampa Tribune. The Tampa Bay Rays placed All-Star pitcher Matt Moore on the disabled list Wednesday because of left elbow strain. An MRI taken Monday did not reveal structural damage, Moore said. The second part of that is certainly good news. The Rays will turn to a four-man rotation heading into August. Manager Joe Maddon also provided some words of encouragement. Everything seems to be fine. We just want to be very cautious with this. More than likely, he’ll be able to pitch when we come off the road trip; I really believe that. But for right now we’re being very cautious.
