Eli's MLB Rumors:
The Red Sox have called up relief pitcher Daniel Bard, the Providence Journal is reporting. Bard is 1-0 in eleven appearances with the Triple-A Red Sox, and owns a 1.13 ERA with 29 strikeouts and 6 saves. Bard will give the Red Sox another late inning relief option, possibly setting up for closer Jonathan Papelbon. The Red Sox are expected to option Hunter Jones to make room for Bard. Since Bard is not on the 40-man roster, the Red Sox will also need to make room for him there.
