Joe McDonald has been tweeting all day updating about the winter meetings. Two tweets that catch attention are that the Red Sox inquired about a trade for pitcher R.A Dickey, and apparently are pursuing Nick Swisher. R.A. Dickey is coming off a tremendous year in which he won the NL Cy Young. At 38 he is nearing the end of his career, but if the price is right pull the deal. As of now, the Mets want prospects Jackie Bradley Jr. and shortstop Xander Boegarts, which is too much for a pitcher who has only had one good year.As for Swisher, if the price is right why not, we can use the depth.

The Age Factor: Reason Mets Are Reluctant To Sign Dickey, Is Why Teams Are Reluctant To Trade For Him

Alderson told reporters in Nashville he’s seeking a “difference maker,” for Dickey, which means a power-hitting outfielder, preferably from the right side.
