By now, Red Sox fans have seen the highlights from this year’s World Series a thousand times. But how many have seen those iconic plays acted out by miniature figurines? Sports Illustrated for Kids provided just that on Monday, using OYO toys to recreate some of the most memorable moments from the Fall Classic. Game 3′s obstruction call is in there, complete with a slow-motion replay, as is Koji Uehara‘s walk-off pickoff of Kolten Wong. The highlight, though, is the the way the reenactment captures Jonny Gomes‘ vigorous helmet adjusting just prior to his game-winning — and series-changing — home run in Game 4. Check out all of those plays and more in the video below. Filed under: Boston Red Sox, Headlines, NESN Nation, NESN Staff, Offbeat, World Series

Jonny Gomes Says ‘Everyone in Boston’ Should Get Ring for Lifting Red Sox to World Series After Marathon Bombings (Video)

Perhaps the best sign of the character of the 2013 Boston Red Sox, World Series champions, is not what they did to forge an incredible season and win it all, but rather how they are saying they did it. While the Red Sox are certainly worthy of the praise being heaped on them as a never-quit group of talented players with a little extra gusto, they’ve also been quick to share the...

Jonny Gomes Reveals Placing Trophy on Finish Line Wasn’t Planned, Says It Was ‘Something That Had to Be Done’

On a day where the emphasis was on the Red Sox and their achievements, this remarkable group of guys shifted the focus to something much bigger than themselves. As the championship parade rolled its way through the city, the duck boats came to a stop just before reaching the Boston Marathon finish line on Boylston Street. With all eyes on the blue and yellow paint marking the significant...

Red Sox players honor bomb victims

"Boston Strong" is really only a saying, but it draws its power from moments like this. Gomes and Victorino on Conan

A clean-shaven Shane Victorino and a still-bearded Jonny Gomes appeared on Conan last night as part of the World Series victory circuit. Jonny being the goofball he is, says some pretty funny things about the ceremonial beard tugging and how Mike Napoli wouldn't ever let him tug him back...seems like a double standard to me. Then Conan brings up the topic we&...
