Tim Redding has been so bad that he was going to force the Mets to do something, with a guaranteed contract Redding was assured a spot but how could the Mets carry a guy who is giving up 4-5 runs an inning. Not that I would wish bad luck on anyone, but I had hoped they could use the DL to at least hide Redding while they tried to figure out what was wrong and get it right.This morning Omar Minaya announced that Redding would be shelved indefinitely due to his shoulder which is what got him off to a slow start. This almost assures that he will start the year on the disable list. There is a discrepancy about the injury, Minaya described it as general weakness and a dead arm. Redding disputed that description stating that he was have soreness and muscle ache in the back of the shoulder.
