Found March 31, 2013 on Redlegs Review:
The Reds needed to trim the roster size down to 25 players by Monday. On Sunday, they did so by effectively putting the final touches on the Opening Day roster. Honestly, there really wasn't much wiggle room in the makeup of the team. Of the 25 spots, 22 were pretty much already locked down. However, the final bench spot and the last two bullpen spots were thought to be up for grabs between several players. Those who survived the final round of cuts included INF Cesar Izturis, RHP J.J. Hoover, RHP Alfredo Simon and LHP Manny Parra. Among the players cut included RHP Logan Ondrusek, RHP Jose Arredondo, INF Emmanuel Burriss, C Corky Miller, OF Denis Phipps, OF Derrick Robinson, and UTL Jason Donald. Ondrusek was optioned to Double-A Pensacoloa, Arredondo to Triple-A Louisville, and Donald was designated for assignment. Injured RHP Nick Masset was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to 3/22. Here is a look at the Reds' 2013 Opening Day rost...

Ludwick dislocates shoulder in Reds' loss

CINCINNATI (AP) -- The defending NL Central champions are hoping that their extra-long opening day loss doesn't affect their lineup well into the season. Left fielder Ryan Ludwick dislocated his right shoulder during a 3-1, 13-inning loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Monday, giving them a big worry only one game into the season. Ludwick's hand stuck in the dirt on his headfirst...

30-1 MLB countdown previews: #3 Reds

The Cincinnati Reds remind me of the 2007-2008 Philadelphia Phillies. A team that has been ready to win for a couple years; the only difference: they won a division title in 2010 in addition to their NL Central crown last season. Attention has shifted to teams such as Washington and Los Angeles, as well as the World Series Champion Giants and the Cardinals, who were in the NLCS for...

2013 Reds' Record Prediction, Roster, Lineup, Etc.

The Cincinnati Reds won a whopping 97 games last year and expectations are even higher entering the 2013 season. While I have no doubt the Reds are a better team, I don’t think they’ll reach their win total of last season. A lot went right for them during the 2012 regular season when they didn’t have a starting pitcher miss a start and their run-differential of plus...
