Final: Reds 5, Phillies 4.

WP: Jonathan Broxton (3-3, 3.02 ERA) LP: Jonathan Papelbon (3-5, 2.86 ERA) SV: Aroldis Chapman (30)

In a roller-coaster battle of a game, similar to the first game of the series in which the Phillies ultimately prevailed, a ninth-inning home run by Zack Cozart off of Jonathan Papelbon would prove to be the winning run for the Cincinnati Reds.

Coming into tonight, Cliff Lee was winless in his last 11 starts at Citizens Bank Park, posting a (0-6) record with a 4.02 ERA.  He has thrown fairly decent in his past few starts, but luck simply hasn't been on his side during the 2012 season.  Lee lasted six and two-thirds innings tonight, allowing three runs (two earned) on  nine hits and one walk.  The three runs that appeared on Lee's line came in his final inning of work, the seventh, as the only run of the game up to that point came by a Howard RBI single in the bottom of the first.

Rollins evened the score at three runs a piece in the bottom of the seventh with his 27th double of the season, scoring Frandsen and Kratz. Down 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Kevin Frandsen hit his first triple of the season (second of his career) on a line drive to right field, which scored Domonic Brown and evened the game once more.  Sadly, Jonathan Papelbon allowed yet another home home run, which ultimately sealed any hope of a comeback.

Fans attending tonight's game received a Hunter Pence Bobblehead along with a Carlos Ruiz Fathead.

Vance Worley (6-8) starts in the third game of the series Wednesday evening against RHP Bronson Arroyo (9-7), with the start-time scheduled for 7:05 pm EST.  Arroyo has struggled throughout his career against the Phillies.  In 47.0 innings, he has a (1-7) record and a colossal 7.28 ERA.  Worley has not lasted more than five and a third innings in four of his previous five starts, but many attribute that to him having bone chips in his right elbow.  He is 1-0 with a 5.73 ERA in 11 career innings pitched against Cincinnati.  The game can be seen on CSN Philadelphia and can be heard on 1210 WPHT AM & 94 WIP FM.

Attendance: 45,091 (Sellout).
