The Reds welcome the Washington Nationals to town for a
three-game set at GABP. Cincinnati is looking for a bit of a revenge after
losing three out of four in the nation’s capital last month which came at a low
point of the early season, sending many fans running for the cliff. Since,
though, the Reds have won four out of five series, including four straight, not
counting a two-game split with the Cubs. Can Cincy show the Nats a little
Cincinnatiude this weekend? All the details after the break…
If it seems like these two teams just met, it was exactly a month ago that they played in D.C. After Sunday, the Reds won't meet the team formerly known as the Montreal Expos again this season.
Washington has been one of the success stories of the year’s
first 30 games, posting a 19-12 record, good enough to place them atop the NL
East. The Nats haven’t lit the world on fire offensively, in fact, they’ve been
pretty poor – tied for 27th in the league ...

Johnny Cueto is among several
Cincy players who are heating up in May
The month of April can be deceiving in many ways as it relates to the performance of MLBers. Players can get off to hot starts only to fizzle out in the remaining five months of the season. Or on the other hand, a player may also labor through a rough April only to turn it on as the weather gets warmer...

The Reds' 2-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday made Cincinnati 9-1 in the final game of series.
"It helps to have Johnny Cueto pitching on a lot of those days," manager Dusty Baker said. "You make conscious effort on those days. You try everyday, but we stress get-away days. Whatever it is, let's keep it going."
The victory over Milwaukee...
Remember back in spring training, when Mark DeRosa was offering hitting advice to Danny Espinosa, and supposedly identified (and corrected) a loop in Danny's swing?
No? Well here's hitting coach Derosa during Spring Training, via Nationals.com:
"There were some fundamental things I thought he (Espinosa) did wrong. Talking to [hitting coach] Rick [Eckstein]...

Mike Leake is still winless, and that's becoming a worry.
Roger Bernadina and Danny Espinosa each hit a two-run homer off Leake on Friday night, setting off one of Washington's biggest scoring splurges of the season and a 7-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.
The slow-starting Nationals had scored only three runs in the first inning all season. They had that many before...
As tweeted by @NationalsPR, which is “the official Twitter page of the Washington Nationals Baseball Media Relations Department,” during last night’s Nats-Pirates game at PNC Park (via D.C. Sports Bog):
Now, PNC Park is a beautiful ballpark, and I don’t find Pittsburgh itself to be particularly ugly, but really? You’re the PR arm of the Nationals and you’re hailing Pittsburgh...
With the off day and the Reds seemingly on a roll I thought I would take a post to look at how the Reds are faring so far this season.
First, the Reds have arguably the best pitcher in Baseball at the top of their rotation. With a 1.12 ERA, Cueto is the second best staring pitcher in baseball (based on ERA alone.) He has 4 wins compared to the 0 wins Dempster (1.02 ERA) has. Cueto...
Washington Nationals rookie outfielder Bryce Harper has a very divisive personality, but his outburst on Friday is something that all fans will agree was completely stupid of him to do.
In the midst of an 0/5, three strikeout game tonight against the Cincinnati Reds, Harper took out his rage on the Nationals dugout, smashing the side of it with his bat after striking out in the...
