Josh Hamilton's new team says it won't ban beer from the clubhouse to accommodate him, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. The Angels did not institute a beer ban in 2009 after 22-year-old pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed by a drunk driver. Hard liquor is not allowed in the clubhouse, but the Angels have not made special arrangements with Hamilton, who signed with the club this offseason, despite of his well-publicized battles with drug and alcohol addiction. "We've talked for a number of years about what we can do to help players with their environment, but we don't think it will be an issue," Angels manager Mike Scioscia was quoted in the report. "Guys are all responsible." The Rangers, Hamilton's former club, also allowed beer in the clubhouse during Hamilton's five years in Texas. However, when Hamilton and Angels pitcher C.J. Wilson, who abstains from alcohol, were with the Rangers, the team would hold a ginger ale shower to celebrate division titles and playoff series wins with them. The rest of the team would then switch to the traditional champagne and beer celebration once they left. Follow Keith Whitmire on Twitter: @Keith_Whitmire
