Major League Baseball is about to hand down the biggest set of suspensions in history, and all those involved can thank Alex Rodriguez for not opening up his wallet. The New York Daily News is reporting that the owner of the Miami anti-aging clinic at the center of baseball’s latest doping scandal, Anthony Bosch,  asked injured Yankees star Alex Rodriguez for financial help after MLB filed a lawsuit that alleged he had sold performance-enhancing drugs to Major League Baseball players. Rodriguez of course in typical A-Rod fashion, turned down Bosch, and refused to give him the hundreds of thousands of dollars he requested, so Bosch decided to turn states witness, and now will cooperate with MLB. “A-Rod refused to pay him what he wanted,” said a source. “Baseball was worried about that.” Major League Baseball was afraid that Rodriguez or another player would pay Bosch to take the rap all by himself.  Instead, because of Rodriguez’ apparent disrespect, Bosch will sing like a bird. Bosch is expected to provide MLB with enough evidence to allow the league to suspend Rodriguez and nearly two dozen other players, sources familiar with the Biogenesis case have told The Daily News. The other big name in the group would include Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun, who beat and successfully appealed a positive drug test last year. According to one source familiar with the investigation, Bosch and his lawyer, Susy Ribero-Ayala, told MLB that Bosch will provide them with damaging information about his past dealings with A-Rod and Braun, including that he “treated” the Brewers All Star when he was a student at the University of Miami.
