With Corey Hart entering the final year of his current contract with the Milwaukee Brewers, the outfielder turned first baseman is bound to be the subject of many rumors. One came Friday as FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported that the Brewers and Hart have begun discussing a new deal. Under contract for 2013 at 10 million, Hart, according to the report, is seeking a three-year deal while the Brewers would prefer to add two years to his current deal. Hart, 30, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he wasn't aware of any contract talks with the Brewers. When first baseman Mat Gamel went down with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in May, Hart moved from right field to first base and did an admirable job for being new to the position. It is widely believed that he will stay at first base in 2013. The talk of a new contract comes as no surprise as both sides have long shown interest in keeping Hart in Milwaukee. Last season, his ninth with the Brewers, Hart hit .270 with 30 home runs and 83 RBI in 149 games. In the same report, Rosenthal mentioned that the Brewers have shown interest in free-agent pitcher Ryan Dempster. Follow Andrew Gruman onTwitter.
