Miami Marlins fans couldn’t have been happy seeing Josh Johnson, Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle, Emilio Bonifacio and John Buck get shipped to Toronto, but surely all those negative feelings will dissipate when they learn of their latest free agent signing. Juan Pierre has agreed to a one-year deal, worth $1.6 million, according to Juan C. Rodriguez of the Sun Sentinel. Pierre played 130 games with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2012, where he batted .307 with 37 stolen bases, one home run, 25 RBIs and a .721 OPS. Pierre was part of the Marlins’ 2003 World Series championship team. He played for the then Florida Marlins from 2003-2005. The 35-year-old is entering his 14th season in the major leagues. His 591 career stolen bases rank first among active players and 19th in MLB history. Photo via Wikipedia/Keith Allison
