Mike Cameron lost his job with the Florida Marlins after being not-so-friendly in the friendly skies.
At least that's what reports from the Miami Herald and Sun-Sentinel are reporting after the Marlins suddenly cut bait with their veteran outfielder earlier this week.
From the Miami Herald:
Two sources on Wednesday gave the reason (for the cut): Cameron got into a verbal altercation with a flight attendant on the team's charter flight from Pittsburgh to Atlanta on Sunday.
The altercation did not turn physical, but the charter company filed a complaint. The Marlins' front office believed it could not keep Cameron after the incident.
After cutting the cord on Monday, the Marlins initially talked up their desire to give more playing time to their younger outfielders. But they also said Cameron had engaged in "conduct detrimental to the team" (a statement which they declined to clarify further when asked by the Sun-Sentinel's Juan C. Rodriguez on Wednesday).
