The Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees are battling for the American League East division title in the final week of the regular season, and the Orioles apparently were not thrilled with the lineup the Boston Rex Sox put on the field against the Yankees on Monday, the Boston Globe reported. According to the report, Orioles people were not happy to see both Dustin Pedroia and Jacoby Ellsbury out of Monday's lineup for the Red Sox, who are out of playoff contention and lost the game 10-2, moving the Yankees one game ahead of the Orioles. Pedroia missed the game with what was later diagnosed as a broken ring finger, and Ellsbury has been bothered by a lat strain. Pedroia and Ellsbury are both scheduled to play Tuesday despite the injuries, but that may not satisfy the Orioles. One major league official told the Globe, "The Yankees have five potential Hall of Famers at the top of their order. The Red Sox have guys who don't even know where the Hall of Fame is." With Pedroia and Ellsbury in the lineup Tuesday, the Sox are down to four players who opened the year with the team's Triple-A Pawtucket club. "We're playing to win," Pedroia told CBSSports.com on Tuesday. "It's not like you all think, that we're packing it in."
