The freefalling Boston Red Sox have reportedly been seeking some last-minute help from the New York Mets.A report in the Boston Globe suggests the Red Sox have inquired about the availability of Mets starter Chris Capuano as they look to hang on to the American League wild card.Capuano would be ineligible for Boston's postseason roster, but would provide the Red Sox with some pitching stability down the stretch.Capuano, 33, is 11-12 with a 4.47 ERA and 155 strikeouts in 175 1/3 innings with the Mets this season.Boston has gone just 5-16 in the month of September and owns a slim two-game lead over Tampa Bay in the wild-card race. The Los Angeles Angels are also lurking, just 2 1/2 games off the pace.
