Lost My Way:
Boston Red Sox
New England Patriots
The Boston Red Sox have told teams that they intend on trading corner infielder Kevin Youkilis. This may not come as much as a surprise for Sox fans, with the rise of Will Middlebrooks and Youkilis unable to stay healthy and inconsistency at the plate, many saw this move coming. It was reported that the Arizona Diamondbacks and Philadelphia Phillies were in Toronto this weekend to scout Youkilis as Boston took two out of three from the Blue Jays. It's going to be interesting to see what the Red Sox are looking for in return. The past few weeks have seen injuries result in the call up of guys like Middlebrooks and Daniel Nava, so will they want a prospect or two in return or will they look for a player who can make an immediate impact with the club? The one name that really should have Red Sox fans excited is Cole Hamels. The Phillies have had some serious injury issues of their own this season and Hamels is one of the only trade assets they own. One of the oldest teams in...

Jarrod Saltalamacchia tried to steal some of the sports spotlight from the Celtics tonight, but Alfredo Aceves had other ideas.
Down 6-4, Salty launched a 2-run homer off Orioles closer Jim Johnson with two outs. The shot barely cleared the Monster and in fact required replay to confirm it went out.
The crowd and team were fired up...until Aceves came back out for the top of the...
Daniel Nava, Ryan Kalish, Ryan Lavarnway, and Jose Iglesias are all up-and-coming prospects in the Boston Red Sox farm system.
While it may not seem realistic in the near future, the fact remains that the future of the Boston Red Sox will rest with prospects either currently on the team or down in the minor leagues. Multiple positions are waiting to be filled by younger talent...
Dustin Pedroia is eyeing a return to the diamond on Tuesday. The Red Sox second baseman has been shelved since May 28, when he re-aggravated a thumb injury only to learn later in the week that he suffered a torn adductor on his right thumb. But after the team's 5-1 loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday, Pedroia told reporters in Toronto that he intended to return on Tuesday, when the...
Daniel Bard was demoted to the minor leagues on Tuesday, after a dismal outing in Toronto on Sunday afternoon. Bard may need some time to figure out his mechanics and turn things around. In the mean time, Daisuke Matsuzaka has looked strong on the mound in Pawtuckets in recent weeks and could be the replacement in the Red Sox rotation. NESN's Jim Rice feels that Bard is too concerned...
BOSTON –– Dustin Pedroia will finally give it go for the Red Sox. After missing six games with a torn adductor muscle in his right thumb, the Red Sox second baseman is returning to lineup against the Orioles as he dons a customized splint to prevent further damage. Before Tuesday's game, Bobby Valentine consulted Pedroia one more time to ensure his safety. Less than two hours...
For a relief pitcher, the early innings of a game are spent two ways: staying warm or getting warm. On Tuesday night, Alfredo Aceves found an interesting way to do the former. The Red Sox closer was spotted in the bullpen wearing a pirate-themed Snuggie or blanket of some kind, decorated with the Jolly Roger's trademark skull and crossbones look. Check it out in the screenshot...
Editor's note: The temperature gauge is a Bill James-created statistic that measures how hot or cold hitters are. We will spotlight Red Sox and opposing team temperatures on game days. The Blue Jays cooled off the Red Sox' bats on Sunday, salvaging the series sweep, but Boston will aim to rekindle a fiery lineup as the Orioles come to town Tuesday. Daniel Nava's streak...
The Red Sox continued to stack up on pitchers, tapping right-hander Pat Light with the 37th overall pick in the 2012 MLB Draft. Light is 6-foot-6, 200-pound flamethrower from Monmouth University. As a junior, the hurler –– who projected to be a first-round pick –– finished with an 8-3 record with 102 strikeouts and a 2.40 ERA. He displayed pinpoint command during the season...
On Sunday, Daniel Bard faced thirteen Blue Jays – he got four outs, walked six, hit two more, and gave up a home run for good measure. Despite that being the only hit he allowed, he gave up five runs, putting a cap on the disaster that has been his experiment as a starting pitcher. Given that he’s either walked or beaned 18 percent of the batters he’s faced this year, it’s...
The Boston Red Sox continued to sift through available prospects on Tuesday, selecting 14 players on day two of the 2012 MLB Draft in rounds 2-15. So far, the Red Sox have focused their attention on the pitching staff, taking 11 pitchers in their first 17 picks. Right-handed pitcher Jamie Callahan was the first Red Sox pick of the day, coming off the board in the second round, No...
The first wave of results are in for the American League voting totals for the 2012 MLB All-Star Game and the Boston Red Sox find only DH David Ortiz leading at his position.
Adrian Gonzalez is not among the top five at first base. The same thing goes for Kevin Youkilis (third base) and Mike Aviles (shortstop) among the Red Sox infielders. Only Dustin Pedroia is among the...
The bats have been strong for the Red Sox lately, and the lineup will only be better when Dustin Pedroia comes back from his thumb injury. Pedroia has been taking swings and is getting ready to re-enter the lineup, hitting coach Dave Magadan said Sunday. Magadan gave Jenny Dell the inside scoop on Sunday on Red Sox GameDay LIVE presented by UNO.
David Ortiz may not be participating in this year's Home Run Derby, but it's looking likely that he'll have a role in this year's All-Star Game anyway. The Red Sox designated hitter leads all DH candidates after one round of MLB All-Star voting, with a whopping 1,204,904 votes. His second-place challenger, Michael Young, trails by close to 200,000 votes with about...
Roush Fenway Racing’s Trevor Bayne will throw out the ceremonial first pitch for tonight’s Boston Red Sox/Baltimore Orioles game at Fenway Park.
“I’m pumped that my first pitch is coming at a Red Sox game,” said Bayne, the 2011 Daytona 500 winner. “I grew up as a huge baseball fan and it is an honor to have this opportunity. Fenway Park is one of the most historic landmarks...
Having just taken 2 out 3 over the weekend in Toronto, the Red Sox return home to Fenway looking to keep gaining ground in the division. Despite still being in a last place tie with the Blue Jays, Boston sits just 3 games out of 1st at 28-26. Since May 11th the Sox are [...]
