According to reports via CBSSports.com, ESPN Chicago and the Detroit Free Press the Detroit Tigers apparently are showing legitimate interest in Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster and Rockies infielder Marco Scutaro. ESPNChicago.com’s Bruce Levine reports that the Tigers are among 10 teams showing interest in Dempster who currently holds a National League best 1.85 ERA. However the Tigers could find competition within their own division as the White Sox and Indians are also said to be interested in the veteran. Dempster though won’t come cheap as Theo Epstein and the Cubs are said to be seeking pitching and a third baseman in return. The Tigers of course have Jacob Turner and Nick Castellano’s who has recently been making a transition to the outfield. Dempster who is 35 years old is signed through the rest of the season and has a career 4.30 ERA. He’s also been a closer in his career saving a total of 33 games for the Cubs in 2005 and winning 17 as a starter in 2008. The Tigers are also keeping
