Bringing in help for a rotation that struggled in 2012, the Minnesota Twins agreed to terms with free agent right-hander Kevin Correia late Monday, according to multiple media reports. Correia, 32, reportedly landed a two-year, $10 million deal. In each of the past two seasons, Correia went 12-11 for the Pittsburgh Pirates, making the National League All-Star team in 2011. This year, he had a 4.21 ERA in 32 games (28 starts). Correia fell out of favor in Pittsburgh when he asked to be traded after he was bumped to the bullpen in July following the acquisition of Wandy Rodriguez in a deal with the Houston Astros. The Baltimore Orioles, Colorado Rockies and Kansas City Royals reportedly were among the teams bidding for Correia's services in recent weeks. The Twins finished last season with the second-worst ERA in the American League (4.77), and their starting pitchers posted a 5.40 ERA, second worst in the majors. Correia immediately joins the top half of a Twins rotation that features Scott Diamond and Vance Worley, the latter of whom came last week in a deal that sent outfielder Ben Revere to the Philadelphia Phillies.
