Maybe I had the right team, just the wrong outfielder when I suggested last week that Andruw Jones might be the bad contract that could dispel Luis Castillo. As I said then the 31 y/o Jones is playing winter ball and is out to prove he's not washed up, the Dodgers may decide to go in another direction and it will be hard to move Jones' contract. Both Jones and Castillo are basically owed the same amount of money but Jones would be off the books at the end of the season and the Dodgers could use a veteran 2B if Kent retires.The Dodgers have another unhappy outfielder in Juan Pierre, who has requested a trade if the team is not going to use him as a regular. Pierre is a 31 y/o left handed hitting outfielder who spent most of his career in center field, while he still has great range and a glove his arm has forced the move to left field.
