Major development in Oakland yesterday, as Rajai Davis wore A’s logo stirrups. Truth to tell, I think that’s a bit much — just stick with the solid green ’rups. But the larger issue is that this really speaks to how MLB has completely lost control of lower-leg styling. It’s bad enough that you’ve got a mishmash of low cuffs, high cuffs, solid socks, and stirrups, but now you’ve got Davis wearing fashion hose that aren’t part of Oakland’s official wardrobe and were never intended to appear on an MLB diamond.
