Rockies reliever Manny Corpas will undergo Tommy John surgery next Wednesday, the team announced. The usual recovery time for the procedure is 12-18 months, so unless Corpas is especially speedy in his rehab process, it seems unlikely he'll see the field for Colorado next year.
Corpas has battled elbow trouble all year and went on the disabled list last week after walking off the mound in pain during a relief appearance against the Braves. His 2009 season also came to an end early, as he had surgery last July to have bone spurs removed from the same elbow. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
