It appears that Roger Clemens still has it. Well, sort of. As is the annual tradition in Austin, Texas Longhorns baseball alumni, including Clemens, Huston Street, and Drew Stubbs went up against the 2012 Longhorns squad in the Alumni Game yesterday at Disch-Falk Field. Roger Clemens drew the assignment of pitching the first inning for the alumni, and was perfect, striking out two of the three batters that he faced. Cohl Walla and Taylor Steil were Clemens’ victims, both of whom project to be starters for this year’s Texas team, with Walla the likely lead-off hitter and starting center fielder. Since the steroid allegations against him in the past few years, Roger Clemens’ presence on the Forty Acres has been somewhat more limited than in the past, where he was a constant fixture on the sidelines of Texas football games and in the stands at Texas baseball games.
