The Marlins have done what Jerry Manuel wanted to do with Jose Reyes, they have moved Handley Ramirez to the three hole. That's partly do to Ramirez's maturity as a hitter but it's also due to the acquisition of Emilio Bonifacia.Bonifacia is a slick fielding, speedster who has been traded two times in the past year because his weak hitting bat could get him on base to utilize his speed. But that all seems to have changed with the Marlins, not only did he make the team but he's their lead-off man. Last night Jose Reyes the premier lead-off man in the league faced off against the youngster and it was Bonifacia who got the better of the match-up. Reyes was held hit less on the evening and when he walked twice he was left where he started on first base. Meanwhile, Bonifacia had three hits in five at bats and scored all three times.
