Today Roy Halladay met with the media for the first time since being put on the DL.  Halladay and Phillies Head Athletic Trainer Scott Sheridan held a press conference around 4 o'clock on Wednesday.  Roy was set to see a second doctor to get a second opinion, hoping for better news.  Halladay did get a second opinion, but it was to no avail.

Roy will remain on the disabled list for 6-8 weeks, he will sit out for three weeks.  Halladay will not participate in any type of baseball activities in that span.  Once the three week timeout is over, he will begin his rehab process.

Quotes after the jump...

When Roy was asked about this injury and when it started, he had this to say :

"At that point I really didn't think it was anything out of the ordinary.  I felt it pretty much right away in the St. Louis game."

"I felt no discomfort, no strain, no tightness, nothing up to that point."

Roy told reporters about his spring training regimine:

"I felt like I was a little bit behind, but still felt good coming out of spring training.

Halladay asked what exactly caused this injury:

"I didn't feel like it was due to anything physical, sometimes its just the wear and tear of pitching."

Roy has always been a player known to work hard, when he was asked about rushing his rehab, he said

"I think theres ways to work hard and rehab yourself correctly. I think the important thing is knowing that a week could save you a month."

Finally, Doc was asked where exactly it hurt, and when does it hurt, he answered:

"There is one specific area where I felt it once I let go of the ball, I have no problems doing the exercises. Its only when I am throwing in a certain position. In that three week period is when we can start testing it. "

Stay tuned for more quotes from Roy Halladay's press conference.
