Kurt Mertins singled home a run in the 1st and Rick Ankiel hit an RBI double in the 5th as Anthony Lerew held the Sounds in check. Nashville's only run came after Lerew made a throwing error in the 8th. John Parrish started the 9th but had to leave the game as his shoulder flared up, so Josh Rupe had to finish it for his 1st save.
