It’s Rubby time. The Red Sox announced Friday that Rubby De La Rosa has been recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket, while Alex Wilson was optioned back to Triple-A following Thursday’s game. De La Rosa, who the Red Sox acquired in last August’s megadeal with the Dodgers, adds an extremely live arm to Boston’s pitching staff, which needs reinforcements following two extra-inning games in a four-day span. The 24-year-old was being stretched out as a starter down in the minors, but he’ll likely be available out of the bullpen during the Red Sox’ series with the Orioles. De La Rosa, who is going through his first full season since undergoing Tommy John surgery, made 14 big league appearances (10 starts) with the Dodgers in 2011 and 2012. He went 4-5 with a 3.96 ERA in 61 1/3 innings. Wilson heads back to the minors after suffering the loss in Thursday’s 13-inning affair. He pitched well in defeat, giving the Red Sox 2 2/3 solid innings, but with the bullpen being taxed of late, Boston needs a fresh arm. Have a question for Ricky Doyle?
