I was reading Jon Weisman's piece for ESPN LA last night and it got me thinking: the Dodgers are going to have a huge addition late in the season. The addition? None other than Rubby De La Rosa.De La Rosa sprained the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow on July 31 and ultimately needed Tommy John Surgery.De La Rosa pitched out of the bullpen in his first three games before securing a spot in the rotation. In 10 starts (55 2/3 innings), he went 3-5 with a 3.88 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and struck out nearly a batter per inning. But if (when) he returns this season, he'll be coming out of the bullpen. Depending on where the Dodgers are at that point, he could help to secure a playoff berth or getting ready to take the No. 2 spot (as it stands right now) in the 2013 rotation. If he returns in before Sept. 1, he'll be more than one year removed from ligament replacement surgery and also be eligible for the postseason roster.Tony Jackson of ESPN LA reported on Feb. 22 De La Ro...

Dodgers' starter Chad Billingsley needs to trust his fastball
As the old adage goes, the fastball is the best pitch in baseball. There's a reason for that. 2012 MLB Season Preview: Los Angeles Dodgers
Dodgers fans must be ecstatic that 2011 is behind them. The McCourt divorce dragged the franchise down, and on top of that last season began with two Dodgers fans attacking a Giants fan. Even if the on-the-field product is a disaster this year...
Los Angeles Dodgers 2012 Season Preview: Third Base
I am fairly certain that everyone outside of Ned Colletti dreads the notion of Juan Uribe playing any amount of games or innings in Dodger blue this season that exceeds one. Dodgers start season on brink of new ownership
The Dodgers head into a new season nearing the end of the Frank McCourt era, with a sale of the team scheduled to be finalized by the end of April.
It will be a welcome change for the front office, the team and its fans, who stayed away in droves in 2011 when off-the-field developments overshadowed anything Clayton Kershaw, Matt Kemp and the Dodgers did on it. As owner, McCourt...

“A Tale of Two James Loneys” would be a great title for a novella, and it’s also the most apt description of Loney’s 2011 season. Manning first in what was another season of “James Loney will finally hit for power and win a Gold Glove” vs. “James Loney will continue to under-perform, and by God
