Aside from the rotation, the only spot the Yankees really need to address this offseason is to add another lefty reliever. Their first target may be Mike Gonzalez, who the Yankees are interested in, according to Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated. Gonzalez, still 33, missed time over the past two seasons with two small tears in his rotator cuff and fraying in his labrum, a huge Pedro Feliciano sized red flag. He also had knee surgery after the season ended. Gonzalez was quite successful in his younger days as the closer for the Pirates and then the Braves. However, because of the injuries he has had an ERA north of four in each of his last two injury plagued seasons. In his career, Gonzo has held lefties to a .281 OBP and a .616 OPS. Last season those numbers were .264 and .574 respectively. So he might not be a terrible lefty specialist, if he can stay healthy. Rumor: Jorge Posada wants to join the Miami Marlins

It seems as if Jorge Posada is determined to play next season. First we heard that he reached out to the Mets, although both sides denied that (typical) and now we hear that he would like to play for the Marlins, according to Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated. This is a fit in the sense that Posada lives in Miami in the offseason and the Marlins are looking to add significant money...

Quote: Bernie Williams on the Hall of Fame Ballot

It has been five years since Bernie Williams retired stopped playing baseball which means he is now included on the Hall of Fame ballot. Personally I’d like to see him be included in the Cooperstown, but I think his numbers will fall just short of inclusion. Here is a statement from Bernie via the NY Post: “To know your name is on the Hall of Fame ballot means you...
