All eyes have been on Aroldis Chapman and his dominance through 26 scoreless innings. Unfortunately the 100+MPH arm has people completely overlooking the Oakland A’s reliever’s impressive streak of 23.1 scoreless, which ended last night due to a RBI Morneau double. Cook’s ERA now sits at .75. Billy Beane acquired Cook as a part of the blockbuster trade sending Trevor Cahill to the Diamondbacks; and so far, the A’s have seen the benefits with both Cook and starter Jarrod Parker (I’d expect nothing less from the Moneyball Genie). Although the streak had to come to an end at some point, it couldn’t have come at a worse time. ...

When Sparky Lyle strode from the bullpen the mound at Yankee Stadium during his days as a premier relief pitches in the mid- to late 1970s, organist Eddie Layton would play "Pomp and Circumstance."
