INSIDER: Hideki Matsui belted two of the Yankees' five home runs off Josh Beckett, and CC Sabathia became baseball's first 15-game winner in New York's 8-4 win vs. Boston on Sunday. The bombers wrapped up a 10-game road trip with its seventh victory and the Bombers' 15th series win in 17 tries. The two victories this weekend were the Yankees' first at Fenway Park since opening the season winless in six tries, completing an 11-day road trip to Seattle, Oakland and Boston that saw them log seven victories in 10 contests.

ON THE MOUND:

CC Sabathia started, gave the Yankees length and pitched good enough for win No. 15. In 6.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits while striking out 8.

The Red Sox scored twice in the second inning, touching Sabathia for two-out damage. Mike Lowell doubled off the Green Monster and Rocco Baldelli belted a run-scoring single to center. Jason Varitek followed with what was at the time a game-tying RBI double to right field.

Had the Yankees not given Boston two runs defensively, Sabathia's line could have looked a lot better.

Cano committed two errors, including dropping a fourth-inning popup that allowed Jason Bay to race home with Boston's third run, and left fielder Johnny Damon could not track a sixth-inning Lowell pop fly that dropped for a hit, setting up Baldelli's sacrifice fly.

The pen did a great job. Phil Hughes put up zero's in 1.1 innings and Mariano Rivera pitched a scoreless 9th.

THE OFFENSE:

Derek Jeter led off the game with his 16th HR of the season over the wall in right field for the 2,700th hit of his career.

In the 2nd, Hideki Matsui belted his 22nd HR.

New York regained the lead for good in the third inning, as Beckett allowed three consecutive singles to open the frame, with Mark Teixeira connecting for a hit to right that sent Jeter home with the third run. Rodriguez added a run-scoring groundout to make it 4-2.

Robinson Cano added a solo shot in the fourth inning, tying a career high with his 19th of the season, and Alex Rodriguez drilled a line drive two-run blast over the Green Monster in the fifth.

In the 8th, Zilla followed through with his 23rd homer, a shot that sailed into the right-field seats. It marked Matsui's fourth multihomer game of the year, including three over a seven-game span beginning Aug. 13 at Seattle.
