Atlanta Braves fans, who have followed the team since the early 90s, have been disappointed often over the years.  Exciting, competitive Braves teams, have seemingly turned to jelly, more times than not, in the postseason. The Braves postseason pitching always seems to range from good to outstanding, while the hitting ranges from below average to horror show.  While the pitching did actually show some chinks in the armor against the Dodgers, the Braves postseason hitting was poor as usual. How many times have we seen Braves hitters who rake all season, get into the playoffs and look like Little Leaguers?  Brian McCann was 0 for 13 against the Dodgers, with 6 strikeouts, including 4 K’s in the fourth and final game.  I don’t care if Clayton Kershaw or Sandy Koufax or Don Drysdale were on the mound, that was ridiculous. McCann’s performance in this year’s postseason is going to make it a lot easier to see him go elsewhere after the season. Jason Heyward hit .143 against Los Angeles an...

Atlanta Braves news: Reviewing the Best & Worst of 2013

The Atlanta Braves had their 2013 season end sooner than they had hoped, as the Los Angeles Dodgers’ come-from-behind 4-3 victory in Game 4 ended the Braves’ chances at advancing past the National League Division Series, something the organization has not accomplished since 2001. Although the end of a season is always disappointing, the Atlanta Braves did in fact have a very...

Dopey Braves players boycotted Chipper Jones’ ceremonial first pitch because he picked Dodgers

Prior to Game 1 of the NLDS, Chipper Jones threw out the ceremonial first pitch. To the mascot. As the team boycotted said 1st pitch. Why? Because he picked the Dodgers to win while conducting an interview on 680 the Fan in Atlanta. Pretty sure that if Jones wants to -- the Mets would be willing to have him in to throw out a first pitch to Travis d'Arnaud to open New York...

Dodgers Send Braves Home

Uribe’s 8th inning home run put an end to the Atlanta Braves 2013 season. The Dodgers won 4-3 and won the NLDS 3-1. The Dodgers relied on the bat of Carl Crawford to get their first 2 runs during game 4.  His home runs in the 1st and 3rd innings put the Dodgers up 2-0. The Braves finally managed to tie things up against Kershaw in the 4th inning.  It started when Chris Johnson...

Report: Braves Refused to Catch Chipper Jones’ First Pitch After Former Third Baseman Picked Dodgers in NLDS

It really does not take much to become an enemy of the Atlanta Braves. The team has started a number of scuffles over the particulars of baseball etiquette this season, and Braves players reportedly boycotted a ceremonial first pitch thrown out by one of the greatest players in franchise history after he picked against the team on a radio show. Atlanta’s mascot caught that first...

Game Day Pictures: NLDS Game 2 Braves vs Dodgers 10-4-13

Do you know how nice it was to have your last live game of the season be the last win of the season? It's really nice. :) I'd been saying for a couple of weeks that if we didn't win the World Series, I hoped we wouldn't be eliminated at home. I'm not an overly emotional person, but I don't think I could have handled watching another elimination game live....

Chipper snubbed on first pitch?

The Los Angeles Dodgers eliminated the Atlanta Braves from the playoffs Monday night in Game 4 of the NLDS, and looking back, maybe bad karma had a hand in the Braves' troubles. It all started back at Turner Field in Game 1, when retired Braves legend Chipper Jones threw out the ceremonial first pitch. But rather than throw it to a current player standing in as a catcher behind...

Atlanta Braves reserve infielder Paul Janish Broke His Nose...When a 45 Lb. Plate Fell on his face

Atlanta Braves reserve infielder Paul Janish broke his nose when a 45 pound plate fell on his face. According to the AJC, the injury occurred when a 45-pound barbell popped off a squat rack while he was working out and hit him right between the eyes. Janish blamed the injury on himself not paying close enough attention to the way the barbell was incorrectly situated on the rack...

Three Cuts: Braves' season comes to end as Dodgers rally

It ended, in a cruel twist of fate, with a strikeout. Justin Upton took a hard cut at Kenley Jansen's 94-mph cutter and the Braves -- who led the National League in Ks -- could only watch as the Dodgers celebrated a trip to the NLCS, sealed with a 4-3 win in Monday's Game 4. Longtime Braves Tim Hudson and Brian McCann, whose futures with the team remain uncertain, stood...

WATCH: Uribe's two-run home run sends Dodgers to NLCS

PAPI!!! Thats is all I could yell at the top of my lungs to the sad, salty, sulking people of San Francisco! In the bottom of the 8th, down 3-2, Juan Uribe... the Uribear... the man who has truly showed up when we needed him time and time again... he made it happen. Juan Uribe squared up to bunt on the first 2 pitches. Then he did this: http://t.co/Lrcvlnz09I...

Braves exit early again, lose to Dodgers in NLDS

The Atlanta Braves came achingly close to forcing the National League division series back to Turner Field, where they had the best home record in the majors this season. Needing a win to avoid elimination, pinch-hitter Jose Constanza's RBI single gave the Braves a 3-2 lead and plenty of hope in the seventh inning. It didn't hold up, though, and they went on to lose 4-3...

Brave's fan's letter to congress

For some reason, the Dodgers and politics have gone hand in hand over the last month or so... Normally, I like seperation of sports and politics... but this was pretty funny. If you are like the rest of MLB, you think the Braves are humorless bumpkins with a weak and ignorant fanbase. A fan-base that has produced commentary such as this - @BestFansAtlanta -...

Juan Uribe sends Atlanta Braves home

(USA Today) Game 4 of the NLDS provided late heroics from the mighty Dodgers as they rallied their way past the Atlanta Braves thanks to a lead-off double by Yasiel Puig in the bottom of the eighth inning with the Dodgers down a run and Juan Uribe up to the plate.  His only responsibility was to bunt Puig over to third base.  Well, small ball isn’t Uribe’s strongest suit as...

Juan Uribe 2-run homer helps Dodgers beat Atlanta Braves to move on to NLCS

Juan Uribe put the nail in the Atlanta Braves coffin to help send the Los Angeles Dodgers to the NLCS. In the bottom of the eighth, Uribe’s two-run homer gave the Dodgers a 4-3 lead in Game 4. Monday wasn’t a good night for Atlanta sports teams. The Falcons lost to the Jets in Monday Night Football action and the Braves are going home after their seventh straight playoff series...
