Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Juan Uribe received his 2010 World Series ring from the San Francisco Giants last night.

Previously, they had planned to give it to him privately, likely in the visitors’ clubhouse.

However, the Giants players objected, saying it should be done on the field for the fans’ sake, if nothing else.

Uribe came out of the visitors’ dugout to an introduction from public address announcer Renel Brooks-Moon.

The entire Giants team was standing together on the field, applauding Uribe as he came out.

A few Dodgers clapped while watching from their dugout. (I counted two.)

He was welcomed first by the Giants’ managing partner Bill Neukom, team president Larry Baer and Senior Vice President and General Manager Brian Sabean, as the trio presented him with his ring.

Then, he was surrounded by the Giants who gave him hugs, handshakes and pats on the back.

Also, Uribe doffed his cap to the San Francisco fans, who did cheer him.
