Barry Zito (8-11, 4.26) takes on Jason Marquis 14-8, 3.58) in a game that will conflict the heck out of Dodger fans, who find it troublesome at best and intestine-eviscerating at worst to root for the Giants. But that's what Dodger fans must do, in order to make sure that the Dodgers get to Coors Field tomorrow with no chance of losing the divisional lead to the upstart Rockies, who have thrived since former Dodger manager Jim Tracy took the helm. Do I want the Rockies to win today's game? I do not. Would I be happy to see the Giants earn a split of the four-game series, treading both teams in water while the Dodgers took three of four from the Cubs? I would. Do I think the Dodgers should still go to Coors and take care of business on their own anyway, which includes seeing James Loney find his hitting groove again in surroundings he has historically found quite comfortable? I do.
