Yankees rally to beat Dodgers 8-6 in 10 innings
Robinson Cano(notes) hit a two-run homer in the 10th inning after the Yankees rallied with four runs in the ninth off Dodgers closer Jonathan Broxton(notes) and New York beat Los Angeles 8-6 Sunday night in a stunning ending to manager Joe Torre’s first series against his old team.
Mark Teixeira(notes) led off the 10th with a single off Ramon Troncoso(notes) (1-2) and Alex Rodriguez(notes) grounded into a force play. Torre brought in left-hander George Sherrill(notes), whose second pitch was driven into the left-field pavilion by Cano for his 15th homer.
Mets hit 3 homers, surging Niese beats Twins 6-0
Even a prodigious home run by Ike Davis(notes) and a spotless outing by Jonathon Niese(notes) couldn’t prevent them from looking silly in those skimpy soccer outfits Sunday.
