Detroit Tigers' first baseman Sean Casey has earned my respect with how he's going to try and chase down Bonds' single season mark. Casey hit his first homer of the 2007 campaign yesterday against the Washington Nationals, officially starting his pursuit of the record a mere 70 games into the season. While cheaters like McSteroid and Bonds lowered the degree of difficulty to break the single season home run record by using performance enhancing drugs, Sean Casey upped the difficulty level in his pursuit by deciding to start his chase almost half-way through the season.

  • Haha. I don't think Sean Casey could break Bonds record if he played in a little league ballpark.
  • He's suffering from Wes Helm's disease (hit his 1st HR the other night for Philly). I think if Casey can get on a roll, he has the potential to hit at least 15 this year.....
  • Yeah, I mean, it's not like he's Placido Polanco and 2 HR's per season is par for him. He's a pretty big guy with at least a little pop, so he might still be able to get into double digits this season.

But even if he doesn't Casey's been hitting like .350 the last month, so as a Tigers' fan, I'm content with that.
  • Casey for Pres.

  • I think he's got a shot. I mean think about it... there is still over a 100 games left. You do the math
